Their front room is rather drab… most everyone in Fondfield knows they have lots of money. So most are uncertain why the decore.

The patriarch is Manara. She is 60 years old, gray hair, 5’ 4” tall, and slightly over-weight. She doesn’t care much for luxury clothes and jewelry.

Her son, Sharn, is 6’ 1” tall, 180 pounds, gray hair, blue steely eyes, 39 years old. He doesn’t want the responsibility of running the family businesses, but since he is eldest he has little say in the matter. He would rather have been an adventurer.

Manara has discouraged him from going to The Green Goose Inn and talking to adventurers about their adventures. He does occasionally encourage them to talk about it when he visits the various stores in town. Manara knows about it, but never mentions this so he will feel like he is still learning about adventuring.

In former years she was an adventurer, but she kept this information from most of the family easier than Sharn’s constant ranting about wanting to be an adventurer. If he hadn’t expounded for years during dinner, she might have been able to find a group to take him somewhere… but it is much too late for that. She was a thief. Her efforts, along with the rest of the group she adventured with, got the family out of a near financial disaster many years ago. Only the head cook and the groundskeeper know of that time as they were part of the group.

Sharn Chand: the head cook is a former fighter level 3; Strength 15, Intelligence 14, Wisdom 11, Constitution 18. He generally carries 2 daggers around with him. Some people think they are cooking knives, but adventurers know differently.

Daran Harnak: the groundskeeper is a former fighter level 4; Strength 18/25, Intelligence 12, Wisdom 12, Constitution 17, Dexterity 16. Usually carries a dagger and various implements he has taught himself how to use as weapons if need arises.

Julie Karnak: cleaning maid; Strength 18/33, Intelligence 11, Wisdom 11, Constitution 16, Dexterity 14. While not a former adventurer, she was a farm girl near the border and so has some weapon skills as several orcs found to their short-lived regret. She is always polite to others.

Both have expertise in cavalry and infantry weapons.

They smile when a trainee makes a mistake. This shouldn’t be misconstrued as amusement.
