Bill on the Profantasy forums emailed me this Wings3D set of files, and I worked on it a bit and rendered this file in Bryce 7. I then converted and cropped it to a png file. I’m not sure where the mottled surface came from. I suppose I’ll learn eventually.

A Camo version

The fuselage is 12 miles long and 4 miles in diameter.

The lower half of this cylinder has the gravity opposite that of the upper half.

The upper saucer, the upper pylon, and the upper half of the center tube have the opposite gravity of their lower counterparts.

The Bussard ramjet engines are not divided by artificial gravity. This is considered to be a design feature by the starship yard engineers.

Some of them found their home solar system ‘too hot’ for them due to accidents, unpaid bills, various non-legal organizations searching for them, some looking for better paying jobs, and some just liked to travel.

More than one solar system supplied crew for this ship.

This does lead to the problem of people with the same or similar names. Some of them could be people making up a name to hide from those looking for them, or coincidence. Some planetary governments didn’t like the idea of identity numbers, so there was no real way to tell people on the ship with the same name apart.

But they were wrong. They were identified as their name, the ship’s port they arrived at, and the standard date and time they arrived. While it didn’t stop all duplications of names, it did stop most of it.

As the Starship Wanderer travelled along the path to distant solar systems, the officers, crew and passengers realized that a walk in the park, watching old videos, being on-duty, and chatting over the phone wasn’t inducive to keeping boredom at bay.

A few looked through the library, on-line and in print.

Some rediscovered crafts of various sorts.

Supplies for crafting being in short supply, working on a computer with 3D software didn’t make up for the boredom that ensued. Everyone’s duties consisted of plenty of computer use already.

More research was done…

Old hardcover books were found in the library about an old game. An RPG called ‘Advanced Dungeons and Dragons’ by TSR. Dice, pencils, and paper was rummaged up, several people had brought their dice collections along, and play began.

Here is their campaign. Link updated March 16, 2010

edit: July 31, 2010.

Why state ‘April 1, 2007’ ? My AD&D players may read this site, and I don’t want to give them any clues. So this ‘tie in’ with Crestar could be me just joking, or it could be part of the game. They will have to find that out.
